Skiplagged App Review

I had initially heard about the app from a family. So, living in today’s digital era.. I immediately downloaded the app.

Signing up was quick and easy. And I was immediately impressed! The price for the flights were jaw dropping. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was almost so tempting that I wanted to book a flight right then and there. The only caveat is.. the round trip flights are priced as dated. I mean you could alter the date, but that would offer the price.

I’ve included a quick video of the interface of the app and price/flight options.

Months had passed before I actually was able to use the app. I needed a quick round-trip flight and Skiplagged immediately popped into my head.

I was flying to Detroit for literally a day – for a good friend’s birthday party. Flew in on Saturday and left Sunday.

When you find something you like, you’re brought to the booking screen. Here you get to choose your fare choice; basic economy (free) and economy (+85/person).

I went with the basic economy option – why not? It’s a quick weekend trip and the flight is under 2 hours.

With the basic economy option, you get a couple options: bring a personal item and bring a full-sized carry-on bag.

*sidenote* I purchased the perfect carry-on bag from awaytravel.com. They have a great, colorful collection to choose from. I use “The Carry-On” suitcase with battery option. Again, in this digital era, I need to be able to keep my iPhone charged.

With the economy (+85/person) option, you get the options named above, plus the option to choose, change or upgrade seat and change your flight – which may cost extra.

After competing my purchase, I immediately received a receipt from Skiplagged and flight confirmation from Delta.

The round-trip flight on Delta airlines was $126.80 (taxes & fees included).

Not a bad price for Delta. The Skiplagged app offers other airline (Spirit, United, etc.) options to choose from that can accommodate your budget.

Checking in was quick and easy, thanks to the Delta app! I had my assigned seat the day before my flight.

Within 24 hours of checking into my flight, I was able to “choose my seat” for $29. Quick and painless. It was still basic economy, so I had to choose within main cabin.

Due to COVID restrictions and social distancing, Delta now boards from the rear of the plane to the front. My seat was 30A.. so when the agent said, “we are now boarding our First-class passengers and those passengers sitting from rows 37-30.

I immediately hopped up and effortlessly made my way to my seat. I just wanted to make sure my carry-on had space in the overhead bin.

No problems! No issues! No sweat!

Overall, the Skiplagged app is a great app to have if you’re a traveler. Or, looking for cost-effective way to budget in a quick getaway.

I rate the app 5 out of 5:

1) Easy to download.

2) Quick and easy signup.

3) Options of flights available.

4) Price.

5) Purchasing process.

I’ll definitely be using Skiplagged in the future. Next time will be a random destination. I feel they “have my back.”

In the next review, I’ll describe my experience with the economy (+$85/person) option.
